If you know that you want to work in Care, but are not sure whether you would prefer working with Young Children or in a wider Health or Social Care environment, then the Prepare to Care Course is for you. This course will give you an awareness of the different working environments in the Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Sectors. You will learn more about the roles played by workers, the important values and principles, and will also cover the basics of health and safety and how you work as part of a team. You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include set tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning Alongside this course, you will be given the opportunity to improve your Maths, English and ICT through studying Functional Skills
Additional Notes Entry CriteriaIf you are interested in applying for the course, you’ll be interviewed by one of our tutors. You will need to have achieved at least 2 GCSEs grade A* - D including English, or have obtained an entry level 3 qualification in a relevant course. Along with these qualifications, we will also need to see a good reference from your former teachers, tutors or your employer. Mature learners will be assessed at interview and will require evidence of a good work record.
Progression DetailsOn successful completion you may progress onto one of our Level 2 courses in Health and Social Care, or Early Years
