This qualification is aimed at people considering a career in health and/or social care with adults or children and young people. The Level 1 Award in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings aims to develop learners’ knowledge and awareness of health, social care and children’s and young people’s settings. It is aimed at learners in college who wish to develop an understanding of the similarities and differences between these settings. To gain this qualification, learners must achieve a minimum of 10 credits:- 6 credits from the mandatory units
- A minimum of 4 credits from the optional units.
Assessment Method
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams or setting up an information board. The qualifications will be pass or refer and all the assessment criteria for the chosen units must be achieved in order to obtain a pass. The units include topics such as:- 1. Understand the range of service provision and roles within health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare
- 2. Understand the principles and values in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare
- 3. Awareness of protection and safeguarding in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.
Progression
Edexcel Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care Edexcel Level 2 Diploma in Children and Young People The knowledge gained will provide valuable learning should a learner choose to progress onto an Apprenticeship in a related area.Additional Information
