This course is aimed at the practicing electrical installation and maintenance engineer who already possess a 16th Edition certificate. It is intended to familiarise the candidate with the changes within the wiring regulations and prepare them for the City and Guilds examination BS7671: 2008.

How is the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations City Guilds 2382 – 20 BS – 7671:2008 course structured?

Entry Requirements

Delegates who have already achieved a qualification addressing BS7671 such as the City & Guilds Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installation (BS7671:2001) 2381 or the 2330-07, 2330-08 or the 2360 part 2 post 1st January 2004 will be allowed to register for this one day course

Recommendations from City & Guilds

It is expected that candidates must have achieved one of the following qualifications, which addresses the requirements for BS 7671 in order to be allowed to enter this qualification.

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671: June 2001 (2381),or
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology installation (Building and Structures) (2330-07), or
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology Electrical Maintenance (2330-08)
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrical Installation Part Two (2360) (from January 1st 2004 onwards only)

Anyone without existing knowledge, as detailed above, of the requirements of BS7671 must undertake the qualification addressing the Wiring Regulations in full – the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671:2008) (2382-10)

IEE17th Edition Wiring Regulations – Requirements for Electrical Installation book ISBN 978-0-86341-844-0 this can be purchased from bookstores or directly from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Michael Faraday House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage SG1 2AY – website www.theiet.org (It is recommended that delegates study this book prior to attending the training course)

Delegates can also purchase Exam Success: IEE Wiring Regulations 2382-20 ISBN: 978-0-86341-886-0 book although this is not compulsory. This is a new publication created by City & Guilds, in collaboration with the Institution of Engineering and Technology

Please also note:

Delegates will need to produce photographic Identification (i.e. valid passport, driving licence etc) on the first day of attendance.
