The BA (Hons) Financial Services (Flexible) programme is a "top up" programme, entered at Year 3 or 4. Study is on a part-time, distance learning basis for a period of between one and four years, depending upon the initial entry qualification. This course will provide you with a sound knowledge of finance and the financial services sector, as well as developing business skills that can be used across a range of careers and industries.

The BA (Hons) Financial Services (Flexible) programme is a "top up" programme, entered at Year 3 or 4. This programme is designed for those that already have a financial services related professional qualification, such as MIOBS, ACII, and AFPC. There are a number of pathway options available - the Banking Pathway (for MIOBS qualified entrants), the Insurance Pathway (for ACII qualified entrants) and the Financial Planning Pathway (for holders of FPC and AFPC qualifications). The course has been developed in consultation with Scotland's leading financial institutions to meet the growing need for staff within the financial services industry. It is one of only two honours degree programmes in Scotland to be delivered in this subject area. What's involved This flexible course is studied part-time through distance learning. You will be provided with a range of distance learning material to study in your own time. Specialist routes include: banking pathway financial planning pathway insurance pathway Below you'll find an indication of the subjects you could study on this course. These will be supplemented by choices from a course-specific option pool: Year 3 Financial Services Decision Making & Planning 1 or Planning Personal Finance; Financial Services Decision Making & Planning 2; Marketing Financial Services; Advanced Personal Financial Planning; Corporate Risk Management; Risk Management in the Private Sector or Risk Management in the Public Sector (work-based modules) Year 4 Central Banking, Dissertation, plus option modules from: Monetary Theory & Policy; Financial Services Risk Management; Financial Services Decision Making & Planning 2; Marketing Financial Services; Corporate Risk Management; Economics of Business Strategy; Global Financial Markets; Management of Financial Institutions; Regulatory Risk Management
