For a qualified midwife currently working in the profession, this part-time course provides the opportunity to take the next step to an advanced career role in midwifery. Through your choice of midwifery-focused modules, you'll gain an in depth understanding of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need to practice at an advanced level, as well as the ability to critically appraise relevant health and social policy. You'll also acquire the knowledge and skills you need to address ethical and professional issues. As a graduate, you'll enjoy increased employment opportunities in the midwifery profession. You'll develop a combination of theoretical and practical skills in this course, including critical thinking when considering the issues associated with practice, knowledge and application of research methods and their application, and efficient approaches to time management, prioritisation and workload planning.
