This course is for experienced plumbers and heating engineers who wish to install and service rain water harvesting (RWH) and grey water re-use systems, who need QCF accreditation, and who need full revision and training.
The course covers the installation, commissioning, handover, inspection and maintenance of RWH and grey water re-use systems in accordance with the new QCF framework qualification.
A training manual will be sent out to you 3-4 weeks before the course, and you will be expected to study in preparation for the assessments.

This 3-day course consists of 2.5 days of revision in the classroom
and the workshop, followed by assessments in the classroom and the
workshop. The assessment consists of an online multiple-choice
exam, paper-based exam and practicals.
This course leads to a Level 3 Award in the Installation and
Maintenance of Rain Water Harvesting and Grey Water Re-use Systems
within the Qualifications and Credit Framework.
The training is mapped to National Occupational Standards which
means you receive the most beneficial and industry-relevant
training possible.
The award is recognised by all the current Microgeneration
Certification Schemes as meeting the requirement for appropriate
training in the solar thermal technology.
Successful completion provides training evidence for suitably
qualified individuals to include with applications for registration
on a Microgeneration Certification Scheme that allows
self-certification. It also acts as notification to building
control departments.
To do this course you need to hold:
- a water regulations certificate
- NVQ2 in Plumbing and Heating OR 3 years of industry
experience
- Level 3 Award in Understanding the Fundamental Principles of
Environmental Technologies
Upon completion of this course you could progress to a Level 3 award in other environmental technologies.
