This brief, concise first aid training course at our Oxford campus gives you the vital knowledge you need to administer first-aid treatment in life-threatening situations. The skills you learn include resuscitation, recovery position and choking. The course lasts just 3 hours and leaves you with the confidence to administer these skills and potentially save someone’s life.

Teaching/learning methods:
We use interactive and varied teaching methods to give you the
experience you need to feel confident in dealing with first aid
incidents. The delivery includes practical scenarios, videos and
group work.
Assessment methods:
You will be assessed throughout the course on your ability to deal
with the different types of incident we go through.
You gain a certificate in Emergency Response, which confirms your emergency first aid knowledge and the skills you have learned on the day.
To do this course you need:
- a reasonable level of fitness
- to be at least 14 years old
No prior qualifications are required. Courses are restricted to 12
students. Students must be a minimum of 14 years of age.
On the day itself, all you need is a pen and a notepad.
To gain an even deeper knowledge of first aid and to become a
recognised first aider in the workplace, take a look at the other

• Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work
The course runs at our Blackbird Leys campus. It is 3 hours long and is currently ‘on demand’ – we have no fixed dates at the moment. Please call to register your interest or to book a group in for training.
