Overview

About This Course:

This course will allow you to develop and nurture creative and technical skills in a variety of traditional and commercial printing processes for the printing, photography and design industries. This is a practical, project-based course that will allow for creative exploration in a diverse range of media. The course includes a range of practical exercises interspersed with theory to allow you to learn the skills through experience, supporting the development of critical thinking and evaluation.

What You Need:
  • Two Standard Grades at Level 3 or above in English and Art/Graphic Communication or relevant subject (or equivalent) OR

  • We’ll invite you to a pre-entry guidance session where you’ll submit examples of your art/photography/design work.

More Information

What You Study:

Subjects you’ll study include: Traditional Printmaking (Intaglio, Silkscreen, Collagraph and Relief Printing), Photography (Studio and location based), Conventional Printing (Digital and Lithography Printing). These will be supplemented with Drawing, Design, Artwork Preparation for Print, Professional Business Practices and Portfolio/Presentation Skills and develop. Core skills in: Working with Others; Problem Solving; Communication.

After The Course:

Continuing Study

The portfolio you develop here can get you onto a higher - level course, and may also assist you in future progression to HNC/D level courses in the following subject areas: Printmaking, Photography, Print and Design. This is subject to portfolio submission.

How Long:

One year, starting in August.

Location:

City Campus North Hanover Street.
