What You Study:

The Finance for non-financial manager’s Essential course consists of 4 sessions.

  • Understanding the income statement account and statement of financial position: Candidates will learn what is included in a statement of financial position, what is included in an income statement account and the differences between the above two financial statements.
  • Using information from the income statement account and statement of financial position: Candidates will learn how to interpret information from an income statement account and statement of financial position. Following this candidate will learn what ratio analysis is and how to interpret using ratio analysis. Finally, candidates will learn how to use selected ratios to interpret information in financial statements and the limitations of ratio analysis.
  • Controlling cash: Candidates will learn why cash doesn’t equal profit and what they can do to ensure there’s sufficient cash within the business?
  • Using budgets to manage business activity: In this final session, candidates will learn how budgets help with daily business management and how to interpret information in a budget.
After The Course:

Upon the successful completion of the AAT Essentials - Finance for non-financial managers course, you can progress on to complete the other AAT Essentials courses; Managing cash flow - keeping your business healthy, Budgeting or Making sense of financial documents. We also have a range of accounting and finance Professional Development Awards (PDA’s).
