Students will be expected to complement their college attendance and work place supervised activities with self-directed study to enable them to complete the programme of assessment. This course will include taught sessions, seminars, research and self directed study. You will be assessed by written assignments, presentations, case studies, work based practical activities, research projects, and professional practice logs. All assignments are set, handed in and marked in strict accordance with university regulations. Each module carries a total of 15 credits:Key Areas

What next
Successful completion of the Foundation Degree programme can lead to; the BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies at Birmingham City University or to other equivalent honours degree programmes, an unqualified teaching post under the Registered Teacher Programme, a Senior Practitioner/Managerial post within an Early Years setting or progression onto the Early Years Teacher Status (updated 2012).Entry requirements
Learners must be aged 18 years on or before 31st August of the academic year that the programme commences. A minimum of 120 UCAS points which may be gained from the following qualifications: 2 x GCE A Level passes 1 x GCE A Level pass plus AS level passes in appropriate subjects BTEC National Diploma or Extended Diploma BTEC National Certificate A Level 3 Diploma or equivalent such as NVQ, GNVQ, International Baccalaureate, Scottish Certificate of Education A recognised (Kite marked) Access CourseArea's of study
