People wishing to become Foresters or Arborists, where chainsaw
operations take place away from a person’s own land, or for hire or
reward, training is a legal requirement. The Provision and Use of
Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) requires employers to
provide adequate training and to ensure that chainsaws and related
equipment are operated only by employees who have received
appropriate training. Anyone working on or in trees is expected to

of theory and practical to support your training to become a
competent operator. Course Contents: - Workshop safety awareness -
Guide bar, saw chain and power unit maintenance - Re-assembly -
Health & safety features - Lubrication and fuelling - Personal
protective equipment (PPE) - Starting and pre-cutting checks - Site
safety awareness - Cross-cutting and stacking timber How will I be
Taught? Experienced trainers (NPTC accredited) will teach theory
and practical and offer a wide range of real life examples drawn
from their workplaces. How will I be Assessed? You will be
independently assessed by one of our NPTC approved assessors. We
are able to arrange training and assessment at your premises or
