into 4 areas of study for the first year. These will be Business
IT, Gaming(programming), Networks & Web design, Computer
hardware. The second year will be split into 6 areas of study where
students will be able to choose any 3 areas plus a mandatory one to
complete their course of study, and specialise in areas that
interest them. As English and maths are important within the IT
industry, all students will have a course of study in both English
and Maths. How will I be Taught? Lecturers will offer support and
guidance in their specialist areas, where the course of study will
take in practical elements as well as group project work. How will
I be Assessed? Each of the 18 modules of study are assessed
seperatly by a variety of means, from video and audio submissions
to presentations and practical work. Each module will be assessed
as either Pass, Merit or Distinction. What our students say? This
is a new course designed from responses given about previous
courses by students. One comment from a student which has proved
useful in this re-design has been... "I really liked learning about
programming, I enjoyed making a game". we aim to build on this
enthusiasm for this course.
