HND Diploma in Business Level 5

This course covers the concepts and principles of business and management as well as research, problem solving and presentation skills. The Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND provides greater breadth and specialisation than the Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC. Edexcel BTEC HNDs are followed predominately by full-time learners. The qualification prepares you for employment in the business sector and will be suitable for learners who have already decided that they wish to enter this area of work. The HND in Business is run as a modular course over 2 years, divided into semesters. Students are required to complete and pass 16 units: 4 per semester. There are 8 business core units and 8 specialist units. YEAR 1 core subjects: · Business Environment · Managing Financial Resources and Decisions · Marketing Principles · Organisations & Behaviour · Aspects of Contracts & Negligence YEAR 2 core subjects: · Business Decision Making · Business Strategy · The Research Project How will I be Taught? The course has a broad business base, such that each unit will be distinct. Teaching and Learning therefore follows a varied pattern. Learning is accomplished by: · Lectures & Seminars · Speakers & visits · Application of theory and models to real and fictional case studies to analyse problems and make recommendations · Individual, Paired and Group work · Design, Role Play and Experiential Learning · Presentations to Business Clients who feedback on students’ plans and recommendations. How will I be Assessed? The course is assessed by a mixture of in-course assignment work and end of unit examination assignments.Course work assignments can take the form of Business Reports, Business Briefings, individual or group Presentations, Time Constrained Assessments, through to Presentations of Individual Research What our students say?
