This is an advanced course for school leavers or mature students
who want to retrain in the animal care industry. The course allows
you to improve your animal experience and confidence through
practical work with our range of reptiles, mammals, birds and
paddock animals in our new animal centre facilities. It also helps
to develop your academic skills in order to progress onto

for your interests and career goals 5. Support and guidance from
highly qualified staff What will I Study? You will cover a variety
of core subjects such as Biology, Practical Animal Handling, Pet
Store Design, Animal Behaviour, Animal Training, Animal Health and
Ecology. You will also get to choose some subjects from options
such as Farm Animals, Aquatics and Nutrition. You will work in the
Animal Centre and learn about the day to day care of a wide variety
of species. How will I be Taught? You will be taught in both
classroom sessions and through practical work in the Animal Centre
and around the estate. You will also study and undertake practical
activities on our working farm and at our equine yard. You will be
required to complete work experience in the College's Animal Centre
at the weekend and during holidays. How will I be Assessed? All
assessment is coursework, it can be in the form of practical
assessments, reports, in class tests, poster or presentations. What

especially the opportunity to choose some modules, and working with
a wide range of animals.
