Taught subjects include Child Development, Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Professional Practice and Communication. The course is delivered using a blended approach, combining taught sessions and assessment in the workplace, and comprises: • Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce • Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Mathematics & ICT • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) How will I be Taught? Teaching, learning and assessment will take place through taught sessions, group work, role play, self study and assignment work. You will be assessed in the work place by a qualified assessor who will observe you at work. You will attend college ond day a week where you will be able to share and reflect on practice and gain underpinning knowledge to support your practice as a L3 qualified member of staff. How will I be Assessed? • Apprentices will be allocated a dedicated assessor who will carry out all assessment in the workplace • Functional Skills are assessed through on-line tests and observations (for English) • Portfolio of work based evidence and assignments to assess knowledge What our students say?
