This is for students that want to stretch their artistic

communication What will I Study? The kinds of skills that are
covered include: drawing, painting, mixed media, print and life
drawing, with the exploration of traditional and non traditional
materials and techniques. These are covered in two practical units
over the year. The first unit is a project exploring the themes of
transformation, experimenting with a broad range of image making
techniques, processes and examining the work of contemporary and
historical artists work. The course work project includes a series
of workshop activities including painting techniques, introduction
to print processes and life drawing sessions. The second unit is a
set of questions set by the exam board that students can respond to
in their own way using skills they have learnt in the first
project. How will I be Taught? Practical art and design lessons
twice a week that are fun and aim for maximum student participation
and production of fine art. How will I be Assessed? Each project is
assessed as a portfolio of work. Work is assessed at the college
and moderated by the exam board.
