This is an ideal starting point and will give you an exciting mix of practical and theoretical skills and knowledge prior to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diplomas or AS/A2 programmes. The qualification is equivalent to four GCSEs grade A-C.
Course Code: A3478 Minimum Age: 16 Start Date: 02/09/2013 Course Length: One year Entry Requirements:To enrol on this course you will need four GCSEs at Grades D-G and will have participated in a one-day workshop/audition where you will present a monologue of your choice.

part;
• discussing interpretation and delivery with other members of the
company and the director;
• performing for a live audience;
• performing in a theatre or 'on location';
• audio as well as visual performances;
• rehearse/polish performances in your own time
• managing the day to day running of the theatre, including front
of house duties
Personal Specification
As a new member of the company, you will need the following skills

performance (you will be required to work evenings)

Assessment is on-going throughout the course and requires you to complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. Assessment activities that you may undertake include participating in practical workshops, rehearsals, performances, coursework, research, keeping journals, writing essays, giving presentations, discussing and evaluating work.
Academic Progression:After successfully completing this course you could progress onto the full time two year BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma programme in one of the four pathways of Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre or Production.
Career Progression:This programme offers an ideal starting point for a career in performing arts prior to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diplomas or AS/A2 programmes.
Full Description:Study is primarily practical and linked to the theoretical aspects of the specific discipline. The course includes modules in industry related business and staging a public performance. Subject specific units related to each performance discipline are also delivered. In total learners will study six modules, two acting, two production, one singing and one dance.
