Course Description:

In the Higher Diploma, you will be introduced to health and safety aspects and other ways in which the law affects the industry. You will learn about the principles of healthy eating and have the chance to put your learning into practice. You will also study some of the basics of financial management, such as budgeting and accounts, which are key skills if you are planning to run a hospitality business. The course will expand and develop your communication and personal skills, which are essential in a customer-centred industry like hospitality. You will get experience of realistic working environments and of team-working with your fellow students. During the course, you will also be able to do at least ten days work experience, which is a great way to apply what you have learnt in a working environment.
