Course Code: A3500 Course Length: September to Easter Course Schedule: 2 days, or equivalent, in college and 1 day on placement per week Entry Requirements:

To enrol on the course a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C or above including English and Maths; or a relevant Intermediate GVNQ at Merit or above; or BTEC First Diploma in Caring at Merit or above.

Core Skills:

The following are examples of the modules you will study during your course: Life stage development, Anatomy and Physiology, Communication skills, Caring for children and young people, Supporting and protecting adults, Health Psychology, Public Health, Caring for individuals with Additional Needs, Caring for older people and Professional Development.

Assessment:

Assessment is continuous with assignments at the end of each module. You will also keep a log of your placement experience and your personal development. There are no exams.

Academic Progression:

Completion of this course satisfies entry requirements for the BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care or BTEC Extended Diploma in Health Studies at Level 3.

Career Progression:

You can progress to a career in Nursing, Social Work, Care or other allied health related professions.
