Health Social Care Diploma Level 3

Who is this course for?

This course is for those who want a career working within the health & social care sector. This will suit you if you have a passion and desire to make a difference to the lives of individuals. We can offer you a one or two year course depending on your qualifications and individual needs.

What will I do on the course?

This course provides you with an excellent step towards a career in nursing, care services, social work or public health. You will develop practical skills and gain knowledge required for a wide range of careers in this area. You will study different subjects such as:

• Anatomy & Physiology
• Sociological and psychological perspectives
• Equality & Diversity
• Health, Safety and security
• Lifespan development
• Supporting and protecting adults
• Values and planning in health & social care
• Personal and professional development

Additional qualifications are obtained during the course including;

• An opportunity to improve your English and Maths skills
• Level 1 Award in Learning to Learn
• Level 1 Award in Environmental Sustainability
• Certificate in Paediatric First Aid
• We also offer English and Maths resits

What qualifications do I need?

• 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English or Maths, OR
• 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C excluding English or Maths, OR
• Level 2 qualification in a related subject
• Adequate standard of English and Maths
• Mature learners with other qualifications and/or experience are also welcomed
• You should have a strong interest in working in the care sector and demonstrate a commitment to succeed
• You will have an interview to assess your suitability and require a clean enhanced CRB check with an appropriate personal reference

Are there any additional costs?

Learners may be required to purchase their own personal equipment during the course. You will also be required to pay for your CRB check. Prices and details will be discussed at interview. Bursary funds may be available to help with additional costs.
