Full Description:

How will you be assessed?

AS: Two exams:

Unit 1: spoken expression and response in French (30% of the total AS marks)8-10 minute assessment in two sections

Unit 2: understanding and written response in French (70% of the total AS marks)
2h 30 paper in three sections (listening, reading, writing)

A2: Three exams for the 2008 examination (this will change next year)

Unit 4: speaking (choice of stance)
Unit 5: literature or coursework
Unit 6: listening, reading and writing

What other courses go well with this one?

French can be studied with any other subjects, not only humanities subjects but subjects such as maths and sciences.

What will you need to buy?

A textbook, a grammar book and a vocabulary book. Details will be provided at the beginning of the course

What could you go on to do at the end of the course?

  • take a degree course in French
  • take a degree course in other subjects with French as an extra option
  • work in Industry where a language is a must or a bonus
