Course Content: • Communicate and behave in a professional manner

• Follow health and safety working practice

• Position themselves and client correctly throughout the treatment

• Use products, equipment and techniques to suit clients treatment needs

• Complete the treatment to the satisfaction of the client

• Record and evaluate the results of the treatment

• Provide suitable aftercare advice

• The effects and benefits of Indian head massage

• How treatments can be adapted to suit client treatment needs

• Contra-actions that may occur during and following treatments and how to respond

• Importance of completing the treatment to the satisfaction of the client

• Importance of completing treatment records

• Methods of evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment

• Aftercare advice that should be provided

• The structure and functions of the skin

• Skin types, conditions, diseases and disorders

• The structure and function of the hair

• The structure of the head, neck, upper back and arms

• The position and actions of the muscles in the head, neck, upper back and arms

How will you learn:

• Practical assessments and case studies.

• Theory and practical based sessions.

• Tthe structure, function and supply of the blood and lymph to the head

• The location and function of chakras

Entry Qualification: • Good communication skills

• Good social skills

• IT skills would be advantageous

• Good level of Literacy

• Good flexibility, no back or knee disorders

• If a candidate has not completed any previous accredited related qualification or has not got prior work experience within the beauty therapy/nail services then the Level 2 Award in Health and Safety must be taken along side the technical award.( a supplementary charge of £50.00 will be made for this unit)
