Modelling with Marzipan and Sugarpaste
Use marzipan and sugar paste to produce simple models from a
design, e.g. balls, cylinders, cones, pyramids which can be made
into simple figures such as snowmen, a caterpillar, chicks/ducks,
and simple roses/flowers. Identify a variety of equipment used to
model in marzipan and sugarpaste.
Coating and Decorating Cakes with Royal Icing
Coat and decorate 1 round cake or dummy using the following
skills
Coating, Line work, S and C Scrolls and rope, Lettering – run
out/single line, Shells/bulbs, Pipe dropped flowers, Stencilling.
Identify and use a range of equipment used for icing to include,
making pipe bags, use of various piping tubes, available stencils,
straight edge and side scraper.
For all the above units
Use equipment safely, display your finished products, store your ingredients and finished products correctly, performed all tasks safely and hygienically.
