The AS (Advanced Subsidiary)can be taken as a discrete one year
qualification or as the first half a full two year A Level. The
courses are challenging, rewarding and enjoyable and offer a
valuable experience for learners with a keen interest and aptitude

There will be opportunities to work with practising artists, designers and photographers. You will participate in cultural and contextual activities and educational visits to support your studies.
How you will gain the qualification
You will gain this qualification through coursework and an externally set assignment at both AS & A2. Final grades are determined by marks awarded to your coursework and the externally set assignments.
What qualifications you need
A minimum of 6 GCSEs at grades A* - C including English Language and preferred grade A* - C and a completed portfolio of photographs prior to interview and this must be approved by the course team. Entry to A2 is conditional on achieving A*-E at AS level.
Where to next
You may wish to progress onto a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Pre Degree level or you can continue your studies at university or gain employment in the Creative Industries.
