Full Time

The AS (Advanced Subsidiary)can be taken as a discrete one year qualification or as the first half a full two year A Level. The courses are challenging, rewarding and enjoyable and offer a valuable experience for learners with a keen interest and aptitude in this subject area.


The course enables you to develop skills through a variety of activities. You will study dance, performance and choreography in a variety of genre and styles. There will be opportunities to perform in a duet or trio. You will participate in cultural and contextual activities and educational visits to support your studies.

How you will gain the qualification

You will gain this qualification through a written and a practical examination at both AS & A2. Final grades are determined by marks awarded to your written and practical work.


What qualifications you need

A minimum of 6 GCSEs at grades A* - C including English Language. Entry to A2 is conditional on achieving A*- E at AS level.


Where to next

You can continue your studies at university or at one of the nationally recognised Dance Schools or gain employment in the Performing Arts Industries.
