Course content
You have a fantastic opportunity to learn about installing all necessary plumbing equipment for domestic properties, and to do so in the College’s brand new workshop and classroom facilities.
Learn pipe cutting and threading, pipe bending and pipe fitting. Make use of the latest materials, such as copper pipes with solder joints and PVC pipes with push fit connections. Learn in unique work areas that will give allow you to install bathrooms, connect to pre-fixed boilers, and install radiators for domestic properties. Learn to install drainage systems and the correct methods for fitting guttering. This course offers many different practical activities, all of which are involved in the world of plumbing.
The course will also allow you to research and develop your health and safety skills, including enhancing skills for working at heights, learning correct procedures for lifting and carrying heavy loads, and basic first aid.
After sucessfully completing this course, you will be able to graduate on to the next level plumbing course, which will provide the skill's you'll need to seek employment in the plumbing industry.

Teaching and assessment
You will be taught both in classrooms and practical workshops, and will learn in an interesting, fun and informative manner. The course structure will give you the opportunity to become qualified plumbers and will help to enhance your social skills, which will be helpful when applying for jobs in the plumbing industry.
Entry requirements
This course has no specific entry requirements; however, students must have attended one of Bromley College's taster day events and participated in online Maths and English assessments.
Additional course costs
You will be required to purchase your own safety boots, but all other materials will be provided.
Progression
After successfully completing this course, you will be given the opportunity to progress onto the Level 2 plumbing course.
Dates and times
This course begins in September and runs for 36 weeks. You will attend the Bromley Campus two days a week in order to complete this course.
