- Financial Capability for the Medium and Long term (CML), examined in May
Teaching and assessment
Assessment is by two exam papers. Each exam will include a multiple choice element (which contributes 35% towards the mark), a case study element (which contributes 60%) and a 5% mark for good spelling, punctuation and grammar in each. As with other AS-levels, the course is graded A* to E with a 40% minimum required to pass in both units.
Entry requirements
You will need a minimum of 7 A*- C grade GCSEs including maths and English. Additional requirements may apply and will be discussed at the time of your interview.
Progression
Those students achieving a D grade or above in CeFS may be eligible to follow this with the Diploma in Financial Studies (DipFS), in their second year. This qualification looks at financial planning from the providers’ perspective and the sustainability of the financial services system. Successfully passing both the CeFS qualification and the DipFS qualification gives the student a full A-level equivalent.
Dates and times
This course begins in September and lasts for one year, followed by the diploma (one year).
