The ifs’ Level 2 Programme in Personal Financial Planning is designed to help you develop your personal financial skills. In today’s complex and ever-changing world, being able to manage and plan your personal finances in order to achieve personal needs, wants and aspirations, both in the short and the long-term, is a key life skill.

The ifs’ Level 2 Programme in Personal Financial Planning is designed to help you develop your personal financial skills. In today’s complex and ever-changing world, being able to manage and plan your personal finances in order to achieve personal needs, wants and aspirations, both in the short and the long-term, is a key life skill.

During the course you will:

  • Make basic financial planning decisions
  • Understand the process of seeking advice from relevant parties
  • Understand the key aspects of financial planning and financial planning products
  • Make basic value judgements as to the suitability of certain financial products

It is an ideal course if you are in part time employment and want to progress your career or if you run your own business and need to have a greater understanding of managing the budget.

What do I need to get on this course?

You will need to have evidence of skills at level 1 in literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills with a good standard of written English.

If you do not have any previouls qualification you will be asked to complete a college assessment.

How will I be assessed?

All units will be assessed either by a paper-based examination or via the ifs e-test electronic testing system.

Where does it lead?

On successful completion of the Level 2 programme, you will be able to progress onto similar level 3 financial qualifications.
