General information

This course is suitable for students wanting to gain the internationally recognised Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) qualification in English for speakers of other languages. The CAE is a high-level qualification in English for demanding academic and professional situations. The CAE is set at Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference and the qualification will enable you to:

  • prove to colleges and universities that you have the right levels of language ability to study in English
  • show employers that you can use English in demanding international business situations

Course content

The programme includes:

  • Preparation for the Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening and Use of English papers
  • Vocabulary and Grammar development
  • Exam practice

Teaching and assessment

Classroom work combines reading, writing, speaking and listening skills with a focus on vocabulary expansion and grammar consolidation. Regular exam practice takes place throughout the course.

Entry requirements

Students should have passed the Cambridge FCE exam, or be assessed to be at an advanced level.

Dates and times

This course begins in September and runs for 32 weeks. Students will attend the College for 10 hours per week.
