General information

This course will equip you with all the skills and knowledge that you need to know about Business and the Retail sector. If you know very little about business, then this is the course for you. It will give you a brief look inside different areas of business organisations and of course the retail sector.

Course content

You will study a wide variety of Units in this course, which you can see below. Included on this programme will be Work Skills and your 3 core functional Skills. Below are the units you will cover:

Functional Skills Entry 2/3 • Maths • English • ICT

Teaching and assessment

Most of the assessment on this course will be through coursework but the functional skills will be examined.

Entry requirements

No Entry requirements, but you will have to come with the enthusiasm and drive to show you want to learn and perhaps become a Business Entrepreneur. If you wish to join the course and do not have any exam passes, you will be asked to come and see us and take a small test. Those with exam passes at Entry Level or above will be accepted.

Progression

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business in the second year. Alternatively students may progress to employment or apprenticeships.
