During the course you are expected to develop a high degree of independence in your learning to allow you to underpin and enhance your learning experience. You are expected to be dedicated, meet all deadlines and have exemplarily attendance and punctuality. The diploma in Art & Design at Level 3 is hard work and challenging, deadlines must always be met, units must be passed - but it is also creative, fun and very rewarding.
Entry requirements
You must have 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C including English language and Art or a BTEC Diploma in Art and Design (Merit or Distinction) with GCSE English at C level. Selection is by interview and appraisal of your portfolio of art and design work.
Additional course costs
At enrolment you will be required to pay for an art pack and contribute towards resources that you will use throughout the year.
Progression
Successful completion of the diploma course could mean progression into a second year and the Extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A Levels). This in turn allows progression on to University to do a foundation degree or Higher National Diploma in a related subject.
