What will I study? This course helps to address the ‘stay safe’ outcome of the Government’s ‘Every Child Matters’ policy – the current government approach to children and young people, looking from a broad perspective at ensuring the well-being of everyone from birth to age 19.
The aim of the course is to concentrate on ways in which children and young people can ‘stay safe’ by minimising the incidence of child abuse and child neglect. This course covers a variety of child protection/safeguarding children issues and is suitable for anyone who comes into contact with children either as part of their working life or on a volunteer basis.
It aims to inform about the various types of abuse or neglect to a child and then explain what you must do if you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected. This is the full version and is suitable for members of staff who come into contact with children throughout the day.
