This course is designed for those wishing to enhance their current subject knowledge in Computer Science before transferring to a PGCE or School Direct Training Programme.This is a full-time, 12 week Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) course for graduates with a degree in a subject other than Computer Science or a related area, who wish to train as secondary Computer Science teachers.
The aim is to provide the breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding that you need to teach secondary Computer Science confidently and competently. This SKE course is fully funded by the Teaching Agency and you will receive a tax free bursary of £208 per week for the duration of the course.

The course is designed to develop the subject knowledge you require to teach Computer Science in secondary schools at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. The focus is on:
- knowledge of computer Science techniques and their applications
- an understanding of the logical principles and relationships within Computer Science
- an awareness of the nature of teaching and learning secondary Computer Science
- communication skills
