Description

This qualification has been designed for those working in a pharmacy setting, either in the community or in a hospital. The qualification meets the needs of the pharmacy sector and related sector regulators and the requirements for endorsement of Skills for Health as the relevant Sector Skills Council for use in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The qualification is based upon newly developed National Occupational Standards for Pharmacy. To achieve the qualification, candidates must complete fourteen mandatory units. Candidates must also complete a minimum of three
optional units from a choice of thirteen.

Course content

The candidate is required to compile a vocationally based evidence portfolio showing evidence of working to dispensing standards and other chosen units.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSE’s at grade A-C (or equivalent) to include English, Mathematics and Science, a minimum of 15 hours working within the pharmacy sector under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
