This course will give you the skills needed to produce web pages using Dreamweaver MX software. You will be able to produce web wages for your own needs or develop the skills which could lead to employment producing web pages for others.

Course content

The focus of the course will be on producing web pages that are visually appealing. You will gain the HTML and Dreamweaver skills necessary to build effective web pages. In addition, you will be able to produce interactive effects such as animations and mouseovers. You will be able to make web pages that respond intelligently to users' actions.

Course content

In addition, you will be able to produce interactive effects such as animations and mouseovers. You will be able to make web pages that respond intelligently to users' actions.

  • Analyse three different types of websites and their main features
  • Produce a design plan for a basic website with layout of different pages
  • Create a website with at least four linked pages
  • Incudes a variety of simple HTML/XHTML features including tables, images, text and hyperlinks
  • Use appropriate software applications to edit existing site content
  • Devise and implement a simple test strategy
  • Correction of errors found in a website

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements are needed, but you will have an interest in web design. No interview is required for this course. Applicants will be invited to enrol before the course is due to start.

Delivery & Assessment methods

Classes will take place in IT rooms where you can develop practical web development skills. There are no formal assessments, but you will be given the opportunity to present a website which you have designed during the course.
