This Level 1 course provides you with an introduction to Dreamweaver for creating, maintaining and publishing Web pages and also to core Website creation techniques. The course focuses on building sites using HTML and JavaScript with Dreamweaver. You will work towards creating a site during the course.
Learner & Entry Requirement:
No previous Web design experience required. However, you must be computer literate with good keyboard and mouse skills. You should have a basic knowledge of using a PC and Windows in general. Some familiarity with using the Internet would be preferred but is not essential

Course Aim & Objective:
Develop a general understanding of and confidence to, work with the applications and associated technologies that are used in the creation and publishing of a Website.
To help you use Dreamweaver to create, edit and maintain Websites. Introduce you to core Internet and Web design issues and to give you an understanding of HTML syntax and JavaScript. Enable you to take advantage of Dreamweaver's built-in features to create sites.
On completion of the course, you should be able use Dreamweaver to create, edit and maintain sites. You should also understand general Internet terms and concepts, and the concept of publishing to the Web.
You should gain a good grasp of HTML and Dreamweaver features and have some knowledge of JavaScript. You are expected to work on developing a Website, of your own choosing, for the duration of the course.
Assessment:
Based on the successful completion of tasks and project work. By the end of the course you should have produced a fully functional project Website that includes all the essential elements of a dynamic Website.

Dreamweaver Intermediate course. Please ask at the centre office for details.

Topics covered include: basic page layout, using HTML, Forms, Frames, Tables, Layers, Behaviours, MetaTags, images, navigation, basic JavaScript and using plug-ins as well as gettng your site online and basic promotion techniques.

- Forms and Form Controls.
- Dreamweaver Behaviours.

- Introduction to JavaScript.
- Search Engines, Meta Tags and Keywords.
- Understanding ISP's domain name registration, and TFP software.
- Site maintenance, promotion and marketing.
