The Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying is designed to prepare learners who wish to enter construction. It has been developed for delivery within a training environment using simulated conditions and all assessments/tests are based on the learner demonstrating knowledge and skills competence.
Course content
Completion will be by achievement of each unit by internal testing together with a mandatory series of questions and answers. In addition, it will be necessary to successfully complete synoptic practical tests/assignments before the qualification can be achieved. Knowledge and skills understanding is assessed by online examination that cover the core and occupational units.

- Building methods and construction technology
- Carry out basic brick and block laying
- Carry out basic cavity walling
- Contribute to setting out and building basic masonry structures up to damp course level
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this Diploma, however, learners must possess enthusiasm and the ability to successfully fulfil the programme content.

The qualification comprises: • Mandatory skill units • Synoptic practical tests/assignments • Multiple choice unit end tests • Online testing of knowledge.
