The course is free for qualifying students.

Course Content: Speaking and listening. •Listen and respond •Speak to communicate •Engage in discussions Reading •Reading comprehension •Grammar and punctuation •Vocabulary •Word recognition and phonics Writing •Writing comprehension •Grammar and punctuation •Spelling and handwriting
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements but you will be assessed on entry to ascertain your level in English. You will then be advised if your level is appropriate for this course. If it is felt that you are not quite at the level required you will be offered another English course to study. This course is designed to help students towards a level 2 qualification in adult literacy so students who already hold a Level 2 or GCSE English would not be suitable for this course. No interview is required for this course. Applicants will be invited to enrol before the course is due to start.
Delivery & Assessment methods
Assessment is by external examination.
Progression
Progression. You can continue on this course and gain a higher level in English or progress to any other course that you are qualified to undertake.
