The BA (Honours) Combined Social Science is designed to be very

these areas, or create your own combination of subjects.
This degree course will equip you with skills highly valued by
employers, such as using IT for the retrieval and effective
presentation of information and data; critical evaluation; and
concise writing.
You’ll have your own specialist, subject-based academic support as
well as opportunities to join in online communities of other social
sciences students for teaching, learning and peer support.
Course content
Year 1: Introducing the Social Sciences; Discovering Psychology; Introducing Health Sciences. Year 2: Welfare, Crime and Society; The Uses of Social Science Year 3: Making Social Worlds; Social Psychology.
Entry Requirements
All applicants will be interviewed and prior learning and qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.
Delivery & Assessment methods
Assessment will be on-going through coursework and examination. Students will need to successfully pass 60 credits each year to progress on to the following year study. All study materials will be supplied as part of the enrolment on this programme, including books, DVDs and case studies, in addition to comprehensive online support materials.
Progression
By the end of your studies, you’ll be an independent social scientific thinker – confident at finding, evaluating and presenting complex data and information, and able to build robust, reasoned arguments backed up by appropriate evidence. You’ll also have a portfolio of critical, analytic and practical skills as well as specialist knowledge that you can apply to a range of workplace environments.
