This foundation programme is the course for you if you have an interest in agriculture but may require support in achieving your career aims. The course will provide you with the opportunity to develop practical skills and knowledge in Agriculture. This course has a large practical element to it and has also been designed to improve literacy skills, spoken communication, numeracy, IT, problem solving and team work skills.

What You Will Study

Units include:

  • Care of animals
  • Developing safe working practices
  • Estate skills
  • Machinery operation
  • Employability skills

Functional Skills

You will also work towards nationally recognised Functional Skills qualifications (English, Maths and IT).

What Next?

Successful students may continue to a Level 2 programme, such as the Level 2 Diploma in Agriculture. Alternatively, students may look to gain employment in a relevant industry or begin a work-based Apprenticeship.
