Course DescriptionThis 20 hour course will cover the BHS stage 1 syllabus and will prepare you for the exam. The course fee is for the training only and the exam fee is not included. It will be the individuals repsonsibility to enter the exam via the BHS.
This level exam is the first level on the BHS career ladder and will also aid horse owners in caring for their own horses.

Riding
- Riding on the flat - Walk, trot and Canter
- Riding on the correct diagonals and canter leads
- Work in walk and trot without stirrups
- Work in trot and canter in a light seat
- Work over trotting poles in jump position
Note: You can attend the riding lessons only or the knowledge and care (Stable Management) only - Riding only £175 or Knowledge and Care only £125. If one session is taken your course will be 10 hours only.
Limited spaces means this course will book up quickly.
You will need to pass a basic riding assessment consisting of mounting and dismount, walk, trot, canter in balance and show a light seat in trot and canter.
Please note there is a 13 stone weight limit and you will have to provide your own riding equipment e.g. hat, gloves, rding clothes, whip and riding boots.
