Who is this course for? The PTTLS Course is for anyone who wishes to teach post 16 year olds in the life long learning sector. It is available to both pre and in service tutors, trainers or instructors. What qualifications or experience do I need ? You need to demonstrate Level 2 in literacy and be qualified in the subject you wish to teach. No prior teaching/training experience is required. What will I study ? The Course Programme covers: * Job roles and responsibilties * Key policies and issues in education * Basic theory of education * Planning and Development * Assessment * Micro teaching session * Reflective Practice Journal The course consists of: * Two assignments * Thirty reading hours * Self guided learning How will I be assessed ? You will be assessed through Assignment work, a practical session and a personal development journal. What qualifications could I achieve ? Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector Level 3. What can the course lead to ? PTLLS is a nationally recognised Edexcel qualification, which is the first stage in teacher training and can lead towards a full Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (also known as a PGCE - Post-compulsory). Will I need an interview ? Yes. All applicants will also require a literacy assessment. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? The course costs �395.00. This includes a course handbook.
