Who is this course for? School leavers with learning disabilities aged 16-25 who wish to progress onto further college courses & training programmes and develop skills for independence. Students need to be working between Milestone 8 & Entry Level 1 which will mean students will have basic reading/writing skills and a level of communication skills. What qualifications or experience do I need ? Prospective candidates need to be working between Milestone 8 and Entry 1 Level at basic skills including communication, literacy and numeracy. Cooking ICT Community Skills Careers Sports Enterprise Personal Development Drama Carousel- includes construction, office Skills and producing a product. Skills for Work Group & Individual tutorial Students in their 2nd year will have the opportunity to undertake some Work experience and have options available to them. Students 2will have a Person Centred Review, towards the end of the year How will I be assessed ? Interview, pre-view week, initial diagnostic assessment. All students work towards their own learning goal and have an individual ILP. Students are working to credits in EDEXCEL Personal Progress What qualifications could I achieve ? Credits towards Personal Progress What can the course lead to ? BTEC entry courses, training programmes, resource centres, part-time college courses. How do I join the course ? Through course leaders. Will I need an interview ? Yes and a short assessment.
