Who is this course for? Adult ESOL courses are offered at Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated people who are able to fully commit to this course for the whole year " To improve your skills in Reading, Writing, and Speaking & Listening. " To gain a recognised qualification, Edexcel ESOL exams. " To help prepare for the Citizenship Examination " To help prepare for work in the UK. Adult ESOL courses are offered at Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2. What qualifications or experience do I need ? Applicants will need basic study skills and will be assessed at their interview to determine whether they will be able to complete the course We expect 100% attendance and punctuality from our students. If attendance or punctuality falls below 85%, students will be subject to the College's disciplinary procedure. You need to attend an interview, do a short test and complete an application form; we will then place What will I study ? Adult full-time courses are 11 hours per week and we run morning and afternoon programmes. All lessons focus on speaking, listening, writing, reading and study skills as well as ICT, Numeracy and Personal and Social Development units. All students are given homework. All students are prepared for an exam at the end of the course. How will I be assessed ? Assessment will be through: * Initial: Interview & written test. * On course: Continuous classroom assessment. * Ed-Excel or Trinity examinations from Entry 1 to Level 2 What qualifications could I achieve ? All students take a suitable Trinity or Ed-Excel ESOL Skills for Life examination. Level 2 students prepare to take the IELTS examination What can the course lead to ? You will take a placement test and join a course at a suitable level for your ability. You can move to a higher level when your English improves. At Entry 3 you can also try a range of other subjects such as Beauty, Childcare and IT. When you reach Level 1 you can choose to study ESOL and other vocational subjects. You can follow an Employment Course if you want to work in the UK. How do I join the course ? Southgate Campus Fill in an application form for the ESOL course you want to study and hand it in.
