In addition, learners will take a course in Level 1 Certificate in Engineering (C&G 7582), a Level 1 Award in Sustainable Development, Functional Skills Maths Level 1 and Functional Skills Level 1. How will I be assessed ? This is an NVQ based course which means that your work will be assessed on a continual assessment basis. There will be a series of assessments during the year. These assessments will cover both academic and practical work. During your period of study you will build a portfolio of evidence which will be assessed by an external assessor. Five units within the NVQ framework are studied and all of these must be passed for a Certificate to be awarded. What qualifications could I achieve ? Level 1 PEO What can the course lead to ? Students who successfully complete this year will be able to progress to PEO Level 2 or the C&G 2365 Level 2 course. Passing the C&G 2365 Level 3 course is your final goal as this qualification together with the NVQ Level 3 is required to become an approved electrician able to work by themselves.
