Who is this course for? Students who are studying AS or A2 Mathematics on the full-time course and who wish to progress to university courses in engineering, science, computing or mathematics. What qualifications or experience do I need ? GCSE grades A* - C in at least six academic subjects in one sitting, including A or A* in GCSE Mathematics. What will I study ? AS Further Maths specification - 8374 Examining Board - EDEXCEL AS Further Maths consists of 3 units:- Unit 1 - FP1 Further Mathematics module + 2 application units (statistics, mechanics, decision) How will I be assessed ? What can the course lead to ? You can continue to study A2 Further Mathematics. Further Mathematics at least to AS Level is required by a majority of mathematics, physics and engineering degree courses at university. How do I join the course ? You must complete a full-time application form and make an appointment for an interview. References will be required from your previous school. Will I need an interview ? Yes, before you can enrol. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? Yes, students are expected to buy their own textbooks (one for each module) and a scientific calculator.
