This PV course is for experienced PV installers who have achieved competency in a non-NOS-mapped course, require QCF accreditation in order to continue installing PV systems, and require only minimal revision and training.
This course covers the installation, commissioning and handover of photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with the new QCF framework qualification.
A training manual will be sent out to you 3-4 weeks before the course, and you will be expected to study in preparation for the assessments.

of photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with the new QCF
framework qualification.

This 2-day course consists of 1 day of revision in the classroom
and the workshop, followed by assessments in the classroom and the
workshop. The assessment consists of an online multiple-choice
exam, paper-based exam and practicals.
This course leads to a Level 3 Award in the Installation of
Photovoltaic Systems within the Qualifications and Credit Framework
(QCF).
The award is recognised by all the current Microgeneration
Certification Schemes as meeting the requirement for appropriate
training in the solar thermal technology.
Successful completion provides training evidence for suitably
qualified individuals to include with applications for registration
on a Microgeneration Certification Scheme that allows
self-certification. It also acts as notification to building
control departments
To do this course you need to hold:
- a 17th Edition Wiring Regulations Certificate
- NVQ3 in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures) or
equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of
competence
- Level 3 Award in Understanding the Fundamental Principles of
Environmental Technologies
The training is mapped to National Occupational Standards which
means you receive the most beneficial and industry-relevant
training possible.
Upon completion of this course you could progress to the Level 3
Award for Inspection and Maintenance of PV systems, or a Level 3
award in other environmental technologies.
