This course has been developed to assist the learner in creating accounts, processing information, correcting errors and producing management reports using Sage Line 50.

The course will cover the setting up of accounts in all three ledgers, entering opening balances, data and balancing accounts; changing existing nominal codes and adding new ones; dealing with depreciation accruals and prepayments and other periodical payments; bank reconciliations and producing relevant reports for all three ledgers.
In addition you will produce reports relevant to final accounts (trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet). You will also be expected to be aware of the need for passwords and security procedures, plus health and safety requirements.

Confidence in transferring manual accounts knowledge to computerised accounts and problem solving. You will also gain application note taking and presentation skills, as well as self confidence.

An understanding of manual accounts is essential (double entry) together with a sound educational background in maths and English. Keyboard skills would be an advantage.

You'll be able to progress to a computerised accounts level 3 course.

Final assessment is by examination only. There is no course work to complete but you will be assessed in class periodically to establish understanding and learning.
Whole class and group work activities will take place but the majority of your learning will be ‘stand alone’.
