NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy

Introduction

The Hair and Beauty industry is a very exciting and dynamic sector of employment and offers a variety of career options. This qualification will complement the knowledge, understanding and skills gained at Level 2. It is a practical-based course and you will be assessed on your competency to perform treatments. The theoretical knowledge underpins the practical skills.

The qualification provides a deeper understanding of the key concepts and practical skills, equipping you with a range of advanced techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for gaining employment within the industry.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You will carry out a range of practical assessments within a commercial working environment. You will also collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, projects and tests.

Entry Requirements

You will already hold 4 GCSE Grade C or above OR a full Level 2 Diploma Beauty qualification.

Additional Information

Students will need to purchase a Level 3 Beauty Therapy Kit, uniform and text books at a cost of approximately £300. During the course there will be the opportunity to attend workshops and exhibitions at an approximate cost of £100.

Progression

The direct progression from this programme would be Diploma in Complementary Therapies (Level 3), or HNC in Hair and Beauty Salon Management.

Career Opportunities

Positions which would be open to you will include Freelance Therapist, Self-Employed Therapist, Beauty Therapist within a salon, spa, hotel, cruise liner, On-Board Flight Therapist and sales.
