Introduction
This award is an introductory course designed to enable you to communicate with deaf people in British Sign Language (BSL).What Will I Learn
You will study a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language use. You will learn to communicate with deaf people in BSL, which is a fast, complex and dynamic process of communication with no written form. The specification has been designed to be consistent with the National Language Standards at Level 1.Example Modules

There are no minimum entry requirements, but you will be invited to attend a taster session with the course tutor.Additional Information
This course is excellent for developing a complementary skill and basic awareness of signing. The first module for this course is also offered as an on-line option for students who would like to learn about sign language independently achieving a CollegeProgression
Upon completion, you will be able to proceed to the Certificate in British Sign Language (Level 2).Career Opportunities
